week 6 story

One day while I was watching T.V and surfing through channels I came by the news channel and they were doing this report on some kid in Florida who was getting CYBER BULLIED. The news reporter interviewed the kid who was getting bullied except we couldn't see his face and they used a fake voice. He was telling us that he told his facebook account name to his friend and from there it spread like a RUMOR. When he got home he logged onto facebook which he usually uses as a HOST. He was expecting a few messages from his friend but instead ho got allot of mean messages from some one called bad boy. The messages were really insulting like saying that he is fat,ugly,stupid,and allot of other inappropriate things. He had no idea who this person was because he used his user name to be ANONYMOUS. He told his parents and they said to take screenshots of the messages as EVIDENCE. He asked the person who sent the messages who he was and he said he was the victims friend but he knew he was IMPERSONATING his friend. Bad boy kept sending more and more mean messages and that made the victim have allot of DEPRESSION,have a low SELF-ESTEEM, and have NAUSEA. When more and more messages kept coming the victims parents told the police and they called it HARASSMENT. It took the police a whole month but they finally found out that it was a kid from his school and they sent him to juvy for 5 months.                                                                        .

Week 5 story

One day I was using the computer at two in the afternoon. While I was chatting with my sister on facebook I saw an add that said win a free Mac. I was stupid enough to put all the personal information it asked me. Immediately after I submitted the information I got an E-MAIL ATTACHMENT that said DOWNLOAD a video creator for your computer. Then I started getting a bunch of other E-mail filling up my inbox. I immediately called my dad to come into the room. He told me that I had gotten SPAM e-mail and told me to delete it immediately. He told me to be careful of trying to get SCAMMED. He also told me never to open the E-mail attachment because it might hold INAPPROPIATE stuff. He also told me never to sign up for games without reading the PRIVACY POLICY, because it might have MALWARE. He also told to be careful of IDENTITY THEFT and trying to be HARASSED. Then he went back to sending a CARBON COPY to hos co-workers and a BLIND COPY to his boss, and I went back to chatting with my sister.

Week 4 story

The time I went to a computer manufactory

          I was living in El Paso TX which was last year. One day while my dad and I were watching television a commercial came on that said a computer manufactory was going to have a tour of their factory, I asked my dad if we could go and he said yes! I opened the computer immediately so we could buy tickets on their website before they got sold out. After we bought them I went to the link that said “what the tour will be featuring “. It said that we will be watching the workers make the computers and they will explain to us how everything works inside a computer and showing us a video on what computers they want to make in the future.

          I had to wake up at 7:00 in the morning which I hate doing on the weekends but today I didn’t mind. The drive from the factory to my house is 30 minutes. Their were about 10 more families most of them were dads and sons. First we got to meet the manager of the factory and he told us what we were going to do. Then he introduced us to the tour guide Nick. First we got to see the factory a little bit then we got to observe the workers put a computer together. I recognized when they put in the ROM and RAM chips and the hardrive in the circuit board, I also recognized when they put the sound card in. When we finished watching them Nick took us to a computer that was already finished and explained to us how everything works like what happens when the input and output devices get connected to the circuit board, how the computer translates through binary, how buses move everything in the circuit board, how bits get stored in the hardrive and how megahertz measure it, how storage devices store everything, and how operating systems work. Finally Nick took us to watch the video, it was really interesting. The video talked about what they want to accomplish in the future, but the part that I found most interesting is that they want to create a new byte that is bigger than kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, and terabytes.

          Even though I had to wake up at 7 in the morning, I really enjoyed the tour.

The time I made my Facebook account

I got my facebook account when I entered middle school. My dad helped me create it because you have to be thirteen. My dad made sure that I wouldn’t revile too much of my identity and personal stuff. I stay anonymous on facebook by not using a real screen name. The register page had allot of questions like what is your gender, what is your e-mail, and other stuff. My dad also said to keep my password to myself. I only tell my family members and friends my screen name I also don’t use a real picture on my profile picture. I don’t add people to my friends list that I don’t know, or talk to anyone I don’t know, and I especially don’t create flame wars. I do not post any bad pictures or say anything bad because when you enroll for college the administrators can check social networks and see what you post and they can get the idea that you do not respect people.

I couldn’t use my facebook right away because it was already to late. The next day I woke up early in the morning to use my facebook, which I never do. First I started to search my sister because she in Indiana, and I miss her allot. I sent her a friend request but she didn’t answer until five. Then I started to add my cousins which I don’t see allot because they work on a ranch. I added my other cousins who live in Matamoros. I also added my little cousin who lives in Brownsville later I guess I will add my friends at school, because I am not sure if they have facebook accounts.
